"Dope New Soul Cats" by Clev & LinX (R&B Artist from British Columbia, Canada)

"Dope New Soul Cats" by Clev & LinX is a dub hip-hop/R&B album featuring creative arrangements and a cutting edge sound. Among the endless elements and influences that make up the sound this duo creates are smooth jazz, funk, Latin, R&B, hip-hop and electronica, creating an overall sound similar to Wyclef Jean or Curtis Mayfield. The true talent these guys have is the ability to combine so many different things and make it work. The concept is clear and the album is consistent. The production quality is excellent. "Dope New Soul Cats" is very well mixed and ready for both club and radio play. Highlights include "Clouds Uptown," which has a smooth, "cool cat" sax and a tight beat. "Ghetto Espanole" features some quirky, Cee-Lo-esque vocals, a Latin flair, and a driving beat. "Fat Soul" is a down home and dirty head bobber that combines a hip-hop beat with a horn section and Latin guitar. Fans of dub hip-hop paired with any of a variety of world genres, you'll enjoy this excellent CD.

"Method to the Madness" by Téa (R&B Artist from Canada)

"Method to the Madness" by Téa is an outstanding worldly pop fusion EP featuring Téa's strong voice and refreshing sound. Téa has a definite presence in her voice and her personality shines through it. The arrangements are a creative fusion of jazz and pop. The songs are well layered, have nice changes and are well produced. The quality of the recordings are excellent and the mix really jumps out of the speakers. Above all, the album has a really great energy. Highlight include "7 Ways," on which Téa's voice sounds great, and the song itself is very catchy. "The Lesson" is a powerful song with a gutsy vocal performance. The title track "Method to the Madness" has a nice hook and an airy mysterious quality to it, while maintaining a poppy listenability. If you enjoy Macy Gray and Amy Winehouse, you'll love this excellent CD.

"Love Affair" by Drea (R&B Artist from New York(NY))

"Love Affair" by Drea is an excellent R&B album with eclectic influences and a soulful vibe. Drea's voice is very seasoned and mature. She's got a great "Old Soul" quality. She has been around music all of her life and it shows. The sound is made up of subtle hints of jazz and house fused with traditional R&B. There are rich harmonies throughout the tracks of this CD. Quality-wise the album sounds great and is well produced and filled with innovative rhythms and sounds. Highlights include "Get your Shh," with a wicked house bass, cool ambient accents and nice vocal layering. "Secrets" slows things down a bit and features some nice jazz guitar work. "Alone" has a deep beat with nice accent variations and a nice vocal performance. If you enjoy finding up-and-coming R&B artists, check out this CD.

"Where Were You?" by Kartinya (R&B Artist from New Jersey(NJ))

"Where Were You?" is the latest single from Soulful R&B artist Kartinya. This track definitely leaves you wanting to hear more. The sound is fresh and Kartinya's voice is beautiful and packs a punch. The song has a thick beat and the instrumentation is subtle and yet interesting. It nicely showcases this Diva's voice. The song has a "Tell It To Ya" attitude and urges you to want to sing along. Her lyrics are original and her delivery rolls right off the tongue. This single is definitely radio ready, as the production value is excellent. If you enjoy female R&B artists, such as Mary J. Blige and Beyonce' Knowles, you will enjoy this single.
