"Stompin At The Paard - Live in the Netherlands" by Kofy Brown (R&B Artist from San Francisco, California(CA))

"Stompin At The Paard- Live in the Netherlands" is the newly released live recording from the extremely talented vocalist Kofy Brown, who is known for her energetic live performances. This release captures one of those performances, recorded at the Paard van Troje in the Netherlands in 2005. The album offers a lively set from Brown and her KBB, better known as the Kofy Brown Band, and she and the band are both in top form performing their own unique blend of R&B, soul, rock, blues and hip-hop. Brown is an expressive and emotional singer, and the KBB is a polished, tight unit. Listen to the grooving "Fly Away," where Brown's spirited vocal floats over an extremely funky groove provided by her band. "Make Fun" is a hard driving tune that features a silky vocal from Brown over powerful guitar riffs, solid electric bass work and intricate drum fills. The aggressive "Can U Hear Me" finds Brown's vocal taking with a hip-hop flavor as she delivers a smooth rap over the commanding groove supplied by her group. "Stompin At The Paard- Live in the Netherlands" by Kofy Brown is an impressive album that will be enjoyed by music fans who appreciate an eclectic blend of R&B, soul, rock, blues and hip-hop, coupled with soulful vocals and an electrifying stage show.

"Headlines" by Martin Jaye (R&B Artist from Los Angeles, California(CA))

RadioIndy is pleased to present Martin Jaye with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Headlines"

"Headlines" is a soulful, five song r&b/pop EP in support of an upcoming full-length release of the same name from singer/songwriter and Hollywood personality Martin Jaye. Jaye gives a soulful and smooth vocal performance reminiscent of r&b greats like Aaron Neville and Lou Rawls. His songs are original, fresh and filled with lyrics about politics, love, and failed relationships. Along with the wealth of content, the songs are catchy, and you'll find yourself singing along in no time. Jaye also produced the "Headlines" EP himself and the overall sound quality is quite good. "Balance the Budget" opens up the EP with a political track about the state of the economy, unemployment, and Jaye's personal call to "Let the people grow." "Actions Speak Louder Than Words" is a song of heartbreak and being left by your lover that features catchy lyrics and a nice hook. "Headlines" is an overall success, with catchy and poignant songs that leave the listener eagerly anticipating what the full-length effort will have to offer. Fans of top 40 r&b and pop, give Martin Jaye a listen.-Chris & the RadioIndy.com Review Team

"Living Here" by J.P. Ranger (Rock/Soul Artist from New York City, New York (NY))

Inspired by generations of power house rock and a touch of blues, J. P. Ranger's newest CD "Living Here" is a compilation of artistic style and flair. Vocals are strong with an attitude of sometimes edgy and emotional appeal. The harmonies are sung in a higher register and are perfectly blended as heard on "Mr. Singer" and "America." The relationship between the musicians of this group is noticeably well connected. "Burning Up" gives an example of this great musicianship with a powerful rock guitar solo and tight, solid drum beats. Ranger's lyrics throughout this album are written from the heart and sung with the same conviction. You'll notice a nice change of musical style with a touch of the Blues on the ballad "Blue Moon Dreamer." The entire CD possesses a high quality of production as each song is well balanced between vocals and instruments. If you like the musical styles of Bob Dylan or Eric Clapton you will want to listen to J. P. Ranger's CD "Living Here."

"Lord Hear My Prayer" is the debut two-song EP from Christian hip-hop artist Second Chance. "Live Again" by C Currie (R&B Artist from Tennessee(TN))

RadioIndy is pleased to present C Currie with a GrIndie Award for the CD "Live Again"

"Live Again" is the debut hip-hop/R&B album from up-and-coming producer and arranger Charles W Currie, or C Currie. The album is primarily focused on displaying C Currie's talents as a creative artist. The product is an album filled with countless hooks, tricky arrangements, and extreme groove-ability. "Live Again" mixes some of the classic sounds we have loved over the years with new and innovative sounds that give the entire album a fresh, original sound. The production value of the album is good, with good representation of classic analog instruments as they relate to modern sounds. Highlights include "My Boo Baby," which incorporates a huge beat, some cool vocal effects, and endless layers to the arrangement. "Mix" is extremely catchy and rolls along great as it introduces you to a variety sounds on the musical journey it creates. "Your Love (Makes Me)" wraps things up nicely with a classic '80s vocal effect to go with its classic '80s 808 beat. If you enjoy hip-hop with a groove mixed with classic and modern innovation, you should surely add C Currie to your collection. -William
