"Flowers and Frolic" is a CD featuring the impressive vocals of Pene Kingsford. Pene's soft vocal style and clear diction is nicely accented by the musical accompaniment, which includes mainly songs with a gentle, acoustic jazzy feel, and a few with a more urban R&B feel. The production on the CD is creative, adding interesting backing instrumentation, sounds, and counterparts. The musicianship is strong. "Lily" is an urban R&B track that interestingly combines male and female rap asides with its lead female vocal. The introduction and back up in "Fibre and the Weave" bring a slightly different flavor to this collection. The title track is a beautiful song that brings out the sensual side of Penne's vocals and nicely adds saxophone fills.
