"The Return Of Funk" by Dane Riley (R&B Artist from Washington D.C.(DC))

Multi-talented solo artist, Dane Riley, has released a new and exciting album titled "The Return Of Funk." Not only does Riley perform on this album, but he also produced, arranged, and composed the entire album. The hours of production time have really paid off with well-balanced vocals and instrumentations. Hints of the musical styles of Prince can be heard on such tracks as "What's My Name?" and "I Came To Party." Riley's lead vocals on the title track "The Return Of Funk" really shine, but he does a great job with the background harmonies as well. Groove to the steady beats of the drums and subtle strings while listening to the slow and moving R&B tune "Meant 2 Be." If you're in the mood for a little R&B or funk then Dane Riley's "The Return Of Funk" is a must-have addition to your CD collection.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Zakben with a GrIndie Award for the CD "In the Beginning…"

In his debut album "In the Beginning…," Zakben launches a spiritual collection of songs filled with rhythm & blues/funk forms. The production of this album is well-presented with a consistent and clever mix of funk and spiritual talent. Vocals are distinctive and sung with crisp clarity, which balances the unity and chemistry between the musicians. Reflecting on his heritage, Zakben sings his well-composed lyrics with sincere and heartfelt tribulations of better times. "12tribes" and "We Are the One" are upbeat songs with a funk style guitar and energetic bass beats. Zakben exhibits his versatility with "Sweetmanna," which brings the tempo down a little to a slower style of rhythm & blues and steady, solid drums. "In the Beginning…." by Zakben will appeal to fans of spiritual-inspired R&B and is one album listeners should definitely take a listen to.

RadioIndy is pleased to present Movin Melvin Brown with a GrIndie Award for the CD "The Magic of You"

RadioIndy is pleased to present Movin Melvin Brown with a GrIndie Award for the CD "The Magic of You"

"The Magic of You" by Movin Melvin Brown is a mix of adult contemporary and R&B pop music. Through his lyrics, Brown conveys a message for all of mankind that there is freedom and justice for all. "I Have a Dream (Obama Dream Theme Song)" is saturated with an artistic poetic narrative of equality and abolishing separation throughout the world. The title track has a catchy progressive bass line, organ with a Leslie speaker effect, and heartfelt lyrics. Take note of the harmonies on "A Way to Love You" as they compliment the uplifting and spirited lead vocal. "Communication" is a clever song about a very relevant topic. The instruments on each song are never overpowering, and are harmonious to each other. "The Magic of You" is a CD well worth hearing especially if you're a fan of Stevie Wonder or Ray Charles.
